Through its business activities, the Ajinomoto group is committed to contributing to the wellness of people worldwide by attempting to resolve the issues of "healthy mind and body," "food resources," and "global sustainability."
Human demand for consumption is outstripping the earth's production capacity. Given this, we must pursue sustainable production and consumption to sustain economic activity and daily life while protecting the global environment. Toward the realization of "sustainable production and consumption," under its Quality, Environment, Health and Safety policy, Ajinomoto Fine-Techno is committed to the development and manufacturing of products that save energy not only during manufacturing but also consumption and use; to the promotion of green energy use; to the systematic reduction of chlorofluorocarbon (CFC) gas; to the recycling of resources – including waste – and to the proper management of chemical substances.
In 2018, we launched new initiatives, including our participation in Japan's green energy certification system, and our use of natural energy equivalent to 6 million kWh of the electricity consumed annually in production, thereby contributing to the popularization of natural energy. *2*3

Green Power

Six million kWh - more than half of the electricity we consume - is produced naturally using biomass.

Contribution to energy conservation and CO2 emission reduction through the development of new magnetic materials

We succeeded in developing a new magnetic material that contributes to power saving in semiconductors used in servers and 5G base stations, and our rapid development with our high-speed development system has been taken up as a model of success by a customer that is a major semiconductor manufacturer. Ajinomoto Fine-Techno is also committed to energy conservation and CO2 emission reduction as part of its sustainability efforts.
